Just had my new Les Paul set up with Saphyre and I can't recommend their services highly enough! Jay did a great job and has excellent attention to detail. You can tell this is a guy who cares about his craft and puts his heart and soul into every guitar he works on.
In addition to the standard setup I had Jay put on a bone nut and he also diagnosed some fret issues (loose frets, leveling) that he recommended be fixed. I had him re-freeze all the frets and dress the fretboard and it was money well spent. My guitar plays like a dream and is smooth as butter.
Again - if you're looking to have work done on your guitar - take it to Saphyre. Jay does great work and is a great guy.

Wow!
To put it simply I have been looking for a luthier/tech that has this knowledge, disposition and training for a long time! The work ethic is tremendous, the quality of work is unmatched, plus the pricing is reasonable too!
I just came out of a bad setup experience with one of the better known shops in the area, and was recommended to Saphyre from a friend. The quality and attention to detail speaks of Jay's passion for the guitar. My guitar came back in better condition then when I dropped it off, and Jay even told me that I take pretty good care of it!
Long story short, I am having all of my guitar work done by Saphyre from now on, and I will be sending any of my students who need work done to Saphyre also! Not to mention one of these days I would love to be able to Commission Jay to build me a guitar from scratch, though I can't decide if it is going to be electric or acoustic!
Do not have any doubts! If you need any work done on your guitars, CALL SAPHYRE! |

I were not a luthier myself (and living in Portugal), I'm pretty damn sure my guitars would be in Jay's hands. I don't remember seeing many guys this focused and excelling at what they're doing.
I look forward to see those gems coming out of Saphyre Guitars (okay, that was a bad joke).
